» Horse Health Requirements
Each horse must have a negative coggins test within twelve (12) months of the sale.
Rhino & Flu shots must be up to date (since Sept. 14th, 2020).
All mares sold vet checked in foal, if questionable, must be checked at the buyer's expense
before leaving the grounds. If found not to be in foal, it will be at the seller's expense. All mares
not vet checked in foal will be assumed to be open.
NOTE: Canadian horses must have International Health papers for transport between
countries. Any questions on this should be directed to your vet or visit the following website:
www.aphis.USDA.gov/vs.
» Check In
No horses will be allowed on the grounds without proper coggins papers. Horses arriving
must be taken directly to the check-in ofce to have their paperwork processed. Sale numbers
will be assigned and then horses will be stalled. Be sure to send your coggins papers with your
transporter if you plan to send the horses ahead of yourself.
CHECK-IN HOURS: Thursday, Feb. 11th from 10:00am-6:00pm and Friday, Feb. 12th from
6:00am-9:00pm.
» Hay, Bedding, and Feed
All consignors are responsible for their own feed and hay. First bedding will be provided.
Additional bedding is available for purchase. No outside bedding is permitted.
» Registrations
If the horse is registered, we will provide a signed transfer and registration certifcate to the
new owner. Catalog number of the horse is the sale number. Buyers: all sales are fnal. The seller
of the horse guarantees the identity of each animal as it appears on the registration certifcate.
Title passes at the fall of the auctioneer's hammer at which time all risks and responsibility for
the horse passes to the buyer.
» Terms
All consignments must have a new halter and lead rope, otherwise the sale committee will
supply one and charge the seller for the cost. No horse will be allowed to leave the grounds
without a checkout slip indicating full payment. All horses must be removed from the barns by
5:00 pm on Saturday evening, the last night of the sale, unless other arrangements are made
with the sale committee. All sellers are responsible for their horses up until the time that the
gavel falls, after which the buyer is in full responsibility.
The sale committee of the Michiana Friesian Sale, LLC, reserves the right to reject any horses
for any reason, including (but not limited to) unsoundness, poor condition, and improper
documentation of registration or health papers.
» Warranties
Ages, heights, markings, and physical conditions are approximated and not guaranteed. It
is the responsibility and obligation of the buyer to examine the horse before he bids as all

sales will be fnal. In case typographical errors or other errors are discovered, the auctioneer
will announce them, which will take precedence over the printed catalog. Buyers are therefore
cautioned to pay attention to the auctioneer announcements.
» Buyers Payment
Buyer shall pay for the horse(s) prior to the conclusion of the sale by one of the following
means: cash, approved personal check, money order, cashier's check, or traveler's check. US
Funds only. Checks are to be made payable to the Michiana Friesian Sale, LLC. There will be a
3% buyers premium added for online purchases. A $75 service charge applies on all bad checks
(NSF, Stop Payment, etc.)
» Guarantees
No guarantees whatsoever, expressed or implied, are made by the sale committee, the
auctioneers, pedigree readers, bid spotters, or anyone associated with the Michiana Friesian
Sale, LLC, as to title, quality, unsoundness, or soundness of any consignments. Presentations
given in writing by the consignor to the sale committee will be announced at the time of sale
as though by the consignor. Any claims made based upon said presentation, guarantees, or
omissions, shall be made against the consignor only and not the sale committee or any persons
related to the sale. Seller's statements of soundness or unsoundness will be announced at the
sale.
» Liabilities
Everyone is urged to use caution and care while attending the sale. The Michiana Friesian
Sale, LLC, all members of the committee, and all those associated with the sale in any way shall
not be liable for any injuries sustained by anyone attending the sale. All parties entering the
grounds where the sale is held, do so at their own risk and further agree that the organization
responsible for the sale is hereby released from any liability or responsibility for any injuries
sustained by them during the attendance of the sale and it's related activities from any case
whatsoever. Notice: Under Indiana law, an equine professional is not liable for an injury
to or the death of an equine activity participant that results from an inherent risk of the
activity.
» Commission Rates
Consignment fee of $150. Commission rates as follows: 5% of the frst $5,000, then 2%
thereafter, with a minimum of $150. Commission on Buybacks/Reserve Not Attained is 50% of
the regular rate, with a minimum of $150 and maximum of $500.
» Payment
Checks will be mailed within 10 business days.
